In celebration of the 20th Anniversary of the Beijing Declaration and Platform for Action, we are reminded that “You can't cross the sea merely by standing and staring at the water.” Our guests – Rose Aguilar and Marilyn Fowler of Women's International Network (WIN) – share how to work with causes that matter – from women's health and family planning rights to economic, property and educational rights. We talk about issues that are important to so many of us – in this country and cultures everywhere. You’ll hear about:

  • WIN and CAWA’s beginnings and their visionary platforms for action

  • the needs you don’t hear about – ranging from civil issues to war

  • creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of person-kind

  • bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely

  • Rose Aguilar’s radio show Your Call, her journalistic endeavors and causes

  • Marilyn Fowler’s path to activism and her profound journeys around the globe
